Karina Garden Jimenez has dedicated her career to developing and empowering Latina women and minority entrepreneurs as they seek to make their mark in the business world. Having already achieved a notable amount of success for herself, she now wants to pay it forward and make a meaningful impact by supporting and promoting the business development of local, minority owned small businesses.
Passionate about entrepreneurship, she is especially adept at providing advice on the business formation process, drafting governing documents for startups and management of business contracts. Often serving as a “department of one”, her roles have never fit neatly into a single job description. She is there when the business is just standing up on its own two feet, and she is there when it’s off to a run and looking steady. Karina enjoys all things creative, including visual branding, website design and graphic work; as well as event planning, content creation and blogging.
Currently, Karina is involved in a number of passion-fueled projects: co-founder of The Business of WE 2016 Summit, an invaluable resource for today’s women entrepreneurs emphasizing collaborative connections; executive director of bluGarden Events, a full-service event production company providing concept design, planning and production services; creator of the NY Bridal & Quince Expo (NYBQE), the tristate area’s first Latino bridal and quinceañera trade show, open to all, but with a particular focus on the Latino community; and founder of Modern Latina Brides, an online resource for multicultural. She’s been featured on NBC Visiones, Univision, Telemundo, NY 1 Noticias, NPR Latino, 1010 Wins, Be Moxie and The Innertia Project, among other outlets for her efforts.
Karina holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science and a Bachelor of Science in psychology from Boston University, along with a Juris Doctorate degree from Brooklyn Law School. An avid music lover, self-proclaimed cupcake aficionado and beagle enthusiast, when not working, you can find Karina tackling do-it-yourself projects or planning her next trip.
